The shows I listen to stay on top of news, startups, and policy

People ask me how I keep up with the pace of AI, and a big part of the answer is podcasts, so here’s my current rotation, sorted by AI, politics, and debate.

I often listen while on a commute, walking, housework, or more.

Each link goes to their apple podcasts page.

AI PODCASTS

1. The AI Daily Brief by Nathaniel Whittemore: Daily AI news and analysis. It gives me all the latest information I need.

2. Silicon Valley Girl by Marina Mogilko: AI, tech, and career growth through founder interviews. A creator’s view of where tech is heading.

3. The Artificial Intelligence Show by Paul Roetzer and Mike Kaput: Weekly AI news for business leaders. Great corporate perspective, and I know the team.

4. Dwarkesh Podcast by Dwarkesh Patel: Long, well-researched interviews with AI researchers. Some of the deepest conversations in AI.

5. Moonshots (Peter Diamandis, Salim Ismail, Dave Blundin, Alexander Wissner-Gross): Exponential tech and abundance. I like the optimism, though it leans too heavily on crypto/elon.

6. The a16z Show (Andreessen Horowitz): Tech and startups with partners and founders. Very detailed, with a format I like.

7. AI + a16z (Andreessen Horowitz): How AI is reshaping software and infrastructure. Same depth and format.

8. Y Combinator Startup Podcast (Y Combinator partners): Building startups, with a heavy AI focus. Very good, and I like the format.

9. Blitzscaling Ventures (Chris Yeh and Scott Johnson): My two business partners on the traits of companies poised to win their market at lightning speed. Always interesting, and I get to work with them.

10. All In (Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks, David Friedberg): Tech, markets, and politics. Useful for news and perspective given their ties to the federal government. I don’t always agree, but their views are influential.

DEBATE PODCASTS
Expand my points of view. These are beyond AI and tech.

11. Open to Debate: One contested question per episode, argued well from both sides, topics are wide-ranging. I think Jessica Groopman my close friend recommended this, thanks Jess.

12. The Munk Debates (Rudyard Griffiths): High-profile debates on global issues, with a Canadian perspective I value.
