The Herd Assembled: 400 AI founders and 100 VCs at Amazon Web Services
The success formula for Llama Lounge is approximately 400 AI founders, 100 AI VCs, 10 AI startups given demo slots, and a gracious host—in this case, AWS. Llama Lounge 11, which I hosted at AWS in San Francisco on July 25, brought together AI founders and VCs. The evening featured ten AI startups on the demo floor, networking opportunities, and an “Ask the Experts” corner with AWS specialists.

The event kicked off with my opening remarks and a conch call (prior video, sound on), followed by a welcome from Timur Yarnall of AWS. Ten startups delivered 30-second pitches on stage, followed by a group photo by ErickD. Attendees then returned to the demo floor and the “Ask the Experts” corner to engage with the featured startups and experts.

A Global Community:
At the start of the event, I ask where people flew in from, and we had attendees from Asia, Middle East, Europe, South America and Australia, Attendees had the chance to network, build relationships, and explore collaborations.
