With the CTR rates being so poor for other social networks, will this work for LinkedIn?  It&#8217;s possible as with organic social networks like Facebook and MySpace the primary task is on socialization and self expression &#8211;however with LinkedIn one task may to be get information quickly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funding: Webjam receives 1.9 Million in funding<\/strong><br \/>\nAnother <a href=\"http:\/\/www.techcrunch.com\/2008\/07\/09\/webjam-secures-further-19m-for-branded-communities\/\">white label player receives funding<\/a>, I&#8217;m <a href=\"http:\/\/www.web-strategist.com\/blog\/2007\/02\/12\/list-of-white-label-social-networking-platforms\/\">keeping track of this busy market on this post<\/a>, including funding, partnerships and acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Asia: Xiaonei Launched Developer Platform<\/strong><br \/>\nChinese social network <a href=\" http:\/\/www.cwrblog.net\/1077\/xiaonei-launched-developer-platform-but-not-really-open.html\">Xiaonei now becomes a container platform<\/a> and offers developers the opportunity to build applications that interact with it&#8217;s community &#8211;some critics suggests its not open.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leadership: HiveLive CEO launches a Blog<\/strong><br \/>\nThere&#8217;s nothing like hearing directly from a CEO of a company his or herself, now <a href=\"http:\/\/community.hivelive.com\/hives\/eab55c7282\/summary\">CEO John Kembell of Hivelive has launched his own blog<\/a>, if you&#8217;re watching this space, do subscribe.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bezos invests in Social Gaming Network<br \/>\n<\/strong>I was recently over at the SGN headquarters in Palo Alto, and they appear to be on a growth track, <a href=\"http:\/\/venturebeat.com\/2008\/07\/14\/social-network-creator-sgn-gets-funding-from-bezos-sgn-looking-for-more-users-bezos-looking-for-web-hits\/\">and now with Bezos investments<\/a>, this could catapult them further.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Article: Fight over enterprise social networking<\/strong><br \/>\nCovering how startups and enterprise software vendors are going to battle out who will have the biggest footprint, this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.infoworld.com\/article\/08\/07\/14\/social-networking_1.html\">Infoworld piece discusses Visible Path, IBM, and other vendors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Analyst: &#8220;Social Networking Just for Fun&#8221;<\/strong><br \/>\nGartner who has been bearish on Social Networks in the enterprise <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/604443\/businesses-failing-to-exploit-social-networking\">is starting to see some business opportunities for social networks<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Social CMS: CMS and White Label Social Networks to collide<\/strong><br \/>\nMore press around my blog post showing how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itweb.co.za\/sections\/software\/2008\/0807101331.asp?S=Content%20Management&#038;A=CNT&#038;O=yahoo\">CMS systems are leaving money on the table for community offerings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Features: Widget Galleries<\/strong><br \/>\nWidgetbox launches a gallery feature, this way <a href=\"http:\/\/mashable.com\/2008\/07\/10\/widgetbox-custom-galleries-updat\/\">any social network\/platform can embed this gallery tool and extend widgets<\/a> to their community.
